HBCUhome Chief Designer Neysa Taylor brings her love of her alma mater to each piece she designs. A graduate of the historic Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee; Taylor searched for home and office decor that captured her love of HBCU culture but was more stylish than what you could find at the university bookstore. That desire led to the creation of HBCUhome.
“HBCU homecomings are a family reunion and class reunion all rolled into one. It’s a place that feels like home, a safe space in a world that doesn’t have many safe spaces for people of color,” shared Taylor. “That feeling shouldn’t be regulated to once a year. I wanted to carry that feeling with me and infuse touches from the yard in my everyday life.” The collection boasts designs that fit seamlessly into your decor and statement pieces that spark conversation.
Chic. Stylish. Refined.
After years of practice, Neysa decided that simple lines and clean design are the key to timeless pieces. As a boutique shop, items are created in small quantities so visit HBCUhome because new items are posted frequently.
